New perspective

The waste has arrived at the end of their time with the Ghanaian informal waste industry. After a good cleaning the pieces lie out to dry on the stone floor in the burning sun. After drying, the pieces are put back in the waste bags and brought to the Chinese factory in the neighborhood.

 

There, the pieces are melted and used to make new products. The structure of the small heaps of plastic particles looked just like the big hills of waste on the waste dump of Kumasi. After travelling through Kumasi for weeks, it was ready for a new life.
